Kuji Biri means “Beautiful Ocean” in the language of Costa Rica’s ancient Maleku tribe.

The name captures exactly what our retreat is about: breathtaking views, a deep connection with nature, and a sense of peace and beauty that stays with you long after you leave.

​Tucked away just outside Santa Teresa, on the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, Kuji Biri is both a private bed and breakfast and a vacation home. It’s an intimate hideaway where the jungle meets the Pacific Ocean, designed to feel exclusive yet welcoming. Every detail created to make you pause, breathe, and simply enjoy.

The vision came from Laurence Combrouze, whose travels around the world - and love for hospitality, design, and sustainability - inspired her to create something truly special in Costa Rica.

 

Kuji Biri is built from that passion: modern architecture and tropical style blending seamlessly with eco-friendly practices and the warmth of Costa Rican culture.
